Where & what types of animals does Board At Home provide care to?

All care is provided in our service area, at the residence of the animal. Our service area covers Austin and the surrounding communities. As for Animals we care for all types. This includes Horses, Dogs, Cats, Rabbits, Fish and Reptiles. Because of the training we endorse, we are able to tailor our service to all types of animals from happy and healthy to those with special needs. What are your Office Hours?

Our office if open from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday-Friday. We are in and out of the office, because of the need to care for our client's valued pets. We do our best to ensure a call back within 24 hours of receiving a message, this way, each and every new and current client, has the opportunity to speak to someone about their needs. How much do you charge?

Our rates are determined by the specific tasks that we need to perform while caring for your animals. As no two animals are exactly alike, we do not ‘lump’ the types of care together. By doing this, we ensure each animal receives the specific type of care that is necessary for them. Once we have your animals information we can give you a quote based on their routine, and how many sessions per day you need. If you would like a quote please fill out our New Client Form.

How far in advance do I need to book?

We ask for a minimum of 2 days notice during non peak and 2 weeks’ notice, especially during the holidays. The more time you provide us in knowing your schedule, the better we are able to provide the best care possible. We will always try to accommodate your needs so please call 512-474-2273 or fill out a New or Current Clients web form for more information. All requests for weekend service must be received by 5:30 pm on Thursday to ensure availability and processing of your request.

How do I pay?

We accept most forms of payment and are always adding more. We offer online invoicing and payments as well as payments by check via US Mail.

Other than the Animal Care Specialist, do other people or animals come to my home?

No, we do not allow anyone other than Board At Home personnel into your residence. This is also true for other animals. Board At Home does not allow any animals that do not reside on the property to come to the home. This is to ensure the safety, security and welfare of your animals.

What makes Board At Home the most qualified & trustworthy?

All of our employees attend a multi-week training, in which we go over all of our procedures and policies. We continue this training as they progress, and no Animal Care Specialist provides care to any animal’s situation that they have not been trained on. Board At Home also takes measures to ensure your confidence with our services. We are Bonded and Insured, for your protection. We are also members of Pet Sitting organizations both locally and nationally. As we always want you to feel safe and secure, we are happy to provide references upon request. We are also a BBB accredited business and have been voted Most Awesome-ist Pet Sitter by the Austin pets directory in 2006 and 2007.

What is your Cancellation policy?

For any cancellations or changes to your care schedule, we ask for at least a 72 hour notice. We always try to accommodate your request so please call our office immediately at 512-474-2273, if you know your schedule has changed. You should also send an email if outside of normal business hours via out Online Web form.

Does my pet need to be vaccinated?

No. Because your pet doesn't encounter other animals, there is no need to require this. All Board At Home employees are taught procedures in order to eliminate the possibility of disease, illness, and parasitic transmission to the best of our ability, and within reason. Because of this, our services are especially helpful for those animal owners whose pets have auto-immune disorders and other sensitive health issues.
